Located in a quiet residential neighbourhood, we are the perfect base for hikers, families, friends, and their four-legged companions looking to explore the Peak District without the noise of the town centre.

We are just a 15-minute stroll from the top of Buxton’s main shopping street, giving you easy access to town while offering a peaceful retreat to come home to.

The Space Inside, you’ll find a bright and airy space decorated in a "modern country" style, offering the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the Peaks.

Living Room: A cosy haven featuring deep blue velvet sofas and a warming electric log-burner style stove—perfect for chilly evenings. Relax in front of the large wall-mounted Smart TV or make use of the double sofa bed for extra guests.

Dining Room: An open and inviting space with a solid wood table seating up to 6 guests. It flows perfectly towards the kitchen, making it ideal for family meals or enjoying our large, provided selection of board games.

Kitchen: A fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook up a hearty breakfast or a Sunday roast. Includes an oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, blender, food scales, and a French press. We also provide complimentary tea and coffee, alongside a highly comprehensive array of cooking equipment, utensils, and crockery for all your culinary needs.

Bedroom 1 (Master): A peaceful retreat featuring a luxurious King-size bed with a blue velvet headboard, ample wardrobe space, and soft lighting for a restful night's sleep, complete with a wall-mounted Smart TV.

Bedroom 2 (Twin): A fresh and bright room with two comfortable single beds and views out toward the hills.

Bathroom: A pristine, modern suite featuring a bathtub with a black-framed rainfall shower overhead—perfect for soaking tired muscles after a hike.

The Garden: Step out onto the paved patio, complete with an outdoor dining area for six and a large BBQ. Festive string lights adorn the fence, creating a magical atmosphere for evening drinks under the stars.

Bus:

Your Local Stop: Queens Court You don’t need to walk all the way into town to catch a bus! Just a quick 2-minute stroll from the front door, you will find the Queens Court bus stops on Queen's Road. Important: To head into Buxton town centre, make sure you wait at the stop on the same side of the road as the Queens Court building (heading downhill).

From this stop, you can easily catch two main services:

1. The Skyline 199 (The Explorer’s Route) This is the best bus for sightseeing and getting around the wider Peak District.

• Buxton Town Centre (~5 mins): Hop off at the Market Place or Train Station to explore the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton Opera House, the historic Crescent, and great local pubs.
• Chapel-en-le-Frith (~15 mins): Known as the "Capital of the Peak, " perfect for traditional pubs and cobbled streets.
• Whaley Bridge (~25 mins): Hop off here for a scenic stroll around the beautiful Toddbrook Reservoir.
• Disley / Lyme Park (~35 mins): Access Lyme Park, a stunning National Trust estate famous for its roaming deer and as the iconic filming location for Pride and Prejudice.

2. The 185 Buxton Buzz (The Local Loop) This is our reliable local route that loops through the area.

• Buxton Town Centre (~5 mins): Drops you right at the Market Place for shopping and dining.
• Harpur Hill (~15 mins): Takes you to the southern side of Buxton, which is handy if you want to access nearby walking trails or head toward Poole's Cavern.

Day Trip: Visiting Chatsworth House:

No trip to the Peak District is complete without visiting Chatsworth House (the "Palace of the Peak"). Because it is further out, you will need to head into the Buxton Market Place first (just catch the 199 or 185 down into town). From the Market Place, you have two options:

• The Scenic Transfer (~1 hr 15 mins): Catch the Transpeak (TP) or 65 bus from Buxton Market Place to Bakewell. From there, it is a quick hop on the 170 bus directly to the Chatsworth Estate.
• The Sunday/Bank Holiday Direct (~45 mins): If you are traveling on these days, the 58 bus runs directly from Buxton to Chatsworth a few times a day! (Around £6).
• Bonus Tip: Keep hold of your bus ticket, as Chatsworth often offers discounted entry for visitors who arrive by public transport. Getting Back Home When your feet are tired after a long day of exploring, simply head back to the Market Place in the town centre. Catch either the 199 or 185 heading toward Fairfield/Stockport, and you can hop off right back at Queens Court, just steps from the house!

Train:

• Buxton Railway Station is your main rail gateway to the Peak District, located right at the edge of the town centre. Because Buxton is the end of the line, arriving and navigating the station is incredibly straightforward!
• Getting to the House from the Station Once you step off the train, the house is about a 15 to 20-minute walk. If you are carrying luggage, the easiest option is to catch the 199 or 185 bus from right outside the station doors. It takes just 5 minutes and drops you at the Queens Court stop, which is only a 2-minute stroll from the front door. There is also a taxi rank directly outside the station if you prefer a direct drop-off.

Key Connections to Buxton If you are traveling from further afield, getting here is very simple:

• From Manchester Piccadilly (~1 hour): This is the primary route. Direct trains run regularly straight into Buxton, making it very easy to connect if you are traveling from London or other major UK cities.
• From Stockport (~45 mins): A major interchange station. If arriving from the south or cross-country, you will often change trains here to catch the direct service up to Buxton.
• From Manchester Airport: Catch a quick train to Manchester Piccadilly or Stockport, then switch onto the direct Buxton line. (Note: If you prefer not to change, the Skyline 199 bus runs directly from the airport and drops you right at our local Queens Court stop!)

Taxi:
